Choosing between fullbody and double charged tiles comes down to how a floor will actually be used, not just how it looks in a showroom. Fullbody tiles carry the same colour and texture straight through the body of the tile, so a chip or heavy scuff is far less visible over years of foot traffic. That consistency makes them the safer default for busy commercial floors, staircases, and any area where scratches are inevitable.
Double charged tiles apply a thicker decorative layer during pressing, which allows for richer patterns and deeper visual contrast than a standard glazed tile. They still hold up well under normal residential and light commercial use, and the extra pattern depth is hard to match with a single-layer tile.
As a rule of thumb: specify fullbody for high-abrasion, utilitarian areas, and double charged where the visual statement matters as much as durability. Our team can walk through both ranges against your project's foot-traffic profile before you commit to a batch order.
