Supplying Africa

Africa is our largest export region and the one we have shipped into longest. Demand across it is not uniform: West Africa buys polished finishes and marble effects in volume for the residential market, East Africa buys into apartment developments that want shade consistency across hundreds of units, and South Africa specifies against SANS standards and asks for technical data before pricing.

Sea freight from Mundra reaches Mombasa in roughly two weeks, Lagos and Durban in three, and the francophone West African ports in three to four. That spread matters when you are planning stock: an East African importer can run leaner and reorder more often than one in Cotonou.

Almost every country in the region now operates some form of pre-export conformity assessment — SONCAP in Nigeria, PVoC in Kenya, Ghana Standards Authority certification, and equivalents elsewhere. Inspection has to be arranged before the container sails, so tell us the destination at order stage rather than at shipment.

What every Africa shipment includes

• Full container load from Mundra or Kandla, FOB / CIF / CFR as agreed
• Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin
• Bill of lading and shipping advice on despatch
• Test reports and technical data sheets for customs and standards clearance
• Physical samples approved before production starts
• Single-batch production so shade is consistent across the whole order
