Product standards we manufacture and test to

These define what the tile is and how its performance figures are measured.

• ISO 13006 / EN 14411 — The international and European product standards for ceramic tiles. Our porcelain is manufactured to Group BIa — water absorption at or below 0.5 per cent — and tested against the ISO 10545 test series.
• ISO 10545 test series — The test methods behind every figure on a technical data sheet: water absorption, breaking strength, deep abrasion, thermal shock, frost resistance, chemical resistance and dimensional tolerance.

Market-entry conformity, arranged per shipment

These are not certificates a factory holds permanently — they are issued against a specific consignment, and the process differs by destination. We handle our side of each.

• SONCAP — Nigeria — Nigeria requires a Product Certificate for imported building materials under the SONCAP programme. We supply the test reports and manufacturer documentation your agent needs to obtain it.
• PVoC — Kenya — Kenya requires a Certificate of Conformity issued after pre-export inspection in India by the appointed agency. We arrange that inspection as part of the export process.
• Ghana Standards Authority conformity — Conformity assessment applies to tiles imported into Ghana. Test certificates and technical documentation accompany every consignment.
• SANS 1449 — South Africa — The South African ceramic tile standard, closely aligned to ISO 13006. Technical data sheets referencing it are supplied with South African consignments.
• CE marking and Declaration of Performance — Tiles placed on the European market carry CE marking with a Declaration of Performance under the Construction Products Regulation, declaring performance against EN 14411.

What to check before you order

Import requirements change, and they change without much notice. Before a first container into any market, confirm with your clearing agent exactly which conformity document is currently required, who issues it, and whether inspection has to happen before the goods leave India — because pre-shipment inspection cannot be arranged retrospectively once a container has sailed.

The most expensive mistake in this trade is a container that arrives without the document its destination requires. Demurrage accrues daily, the goods cannot be released, and in some jurisdictions the consignment can be refused entry outright. It is worth an email before the order, not after the shipment.
