800 x 1600 mm GVT — Glazed Vitrified Tiles
Slab territory. A wall can be two pieces and an open-plan floor needs so few tiles that the joints stop registering. Needs two people, a levelling system and a flat substrate — this is not a format to hand to an inexperienced setter.
- 2 pieces per box — 2.56 m² coverage
- 9 mm thick, 50 kg per box
- Around 1,050 m² in a 20ft container
Packing and logistics

80 x 160 cm GVT — Glazed Vitrified — common questions
How many 80 x 160 cm tiles are in a box?
2 pieces, covering 2.56 square metres and weighing about 50 kg gross. A pallet holds 24 boxes.
How many square metres fit in a container?
Approximately 1,050 m² in a 20-foot container and 2,150 m² in a 40-foot, at 9 mm thickness. Thicker tiles hit the payload limit before they fill the volume, so the figure drops sharply above 12 mm.
How many boxes do I need?
Divide your measured area in square metres by 2.56, round up, then add ten per cent for cuts, breakage and future repairs — fifteen per cent for a diagonal or herringbone layout.
What is 80 x 160 cm in inches?
About 32 x 64 in. The metric figure is the exact one, because the tile is manufactured to metric dimensions and imperial equivalents are always approximate.
